Discover Nick Brandt's powerful monograph, This Empty World, where art meets urgent environmental commentary. This stunning collection features a series of visually arresting photographs that explore the stark realities faced by animals and people in East Africa due to environmental degradation. Moving into color photography for the very first time, Brandt delivers a unique visual experience that resonates with themes of loss and survival. Each image is a masterful composite crafted from two moments captured weeks apart, showcasing critically staged scenes that highlight the impact of human development on wildlife and natural habitats. Brandt meticulously constructs sets that depict key elements of environmental disruption, such as highway construction sites, petrol stations, and a haunting dead forest, effectively immersing the viewer in a narrative of ecological urgency. The large-scale prints not only captivate the eye but also provoke thought about the future of our planet and the delicate balance between nature and human progress. This book is essential for art lovers, photographers, and anyone concerned with environmental issues. By bringing together local communities to participate in the storytelling, Brandt not only captures stunning imagery but also pays homage to the human element intertwined with nature's plight. Experience the beauty and tragedy of East Africa through Brandt's lens and ask yourself: what kind of world are we leaving behind? Perfect for collectors and as a profound gift for those passionate about wildlife conservation and environmental art.Shipping Notes

A Classic
Format: Paperback
This is my favorite book by Dr. Watson. I have read it many times and continue to learn and deepen my own nursing practice. I highly recommend this book over all others. Whether you've been a nurse for 4 years or 40 years, you'll be surprised at what you'll learn.

Caring- updated.
Format: Paperback
It is refreshing to read The Philosophy and Science of Caring. Caring is central to nursing and frequently in the nursing literature. Watson has revised and expanded her Caring Science and Philosophy, offering new insights, science and exemplars. This book is useful for all nurses, scholars, practitioners and educators. It should be required reading for nursing regardless of practice venue. Bravo, Jean!

Good for research
Format: Paperback
Nursing research is not the place for me but it’s good to know this stuff before you become a nurse. I did use this for many assignments.
