The Teraflex Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount is designed to accommodate up to a 40” tire on your Jeep Wrangler JL. The TeraFlex Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier will secure your full-size spare tire and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount over the most extreme trails and rugged terrain. It also provides easy access to the rear cargo area in one smooth action. Using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points spreads the load of the spare tire over a larger area for maximum strength and durability. The Tire Carrier spans nearly the width of the tailgate for better weight distribution. Internal gussets and bracing in the stock JL body support the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier and oversized tire, which eliminates all stress from the tailgate. Teraflex designed this tire carrier in a one-piece, forged steel hinge design that ties the top and bottom factory hinge locations together as well as additional vertical braces for increased strength. The Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier also provides additional mounting points for off-road accessories such as a recovery jack and fluid containers. The Tire Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tire by securely mounting the tire to the Tire Carrier and tailgate. Ensure your tailgate is up to the task, with this Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier Kit from TeraFlex. This kit is paired with the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount (4838910) to support up to a 40" spare wheel and tire combo. The Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount (which is included) can be used alone, it has been designed to be installed in conjunction with the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier. Complete adjustability includes vertical as well as before and after adjustments.

Construcion: Hinged Carrier constructed from strong and lightweight A356.2 aluminum. Heavy-duty forged steel brackets and mid-carbon hardened steel 5/8” hinge pins eliminates tailgate stress and rattles.
Acessory Mounting: Threaded mounting holes for mounting accessories such as Hi-Lift and CB antennae brackets.
Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount: Although the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount can be used alone, it has been designed to be installed in conjunction with the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tire Carrier. The Tire Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tire by securely mounting the tire to the Tire Carrier and tailgate.
