Vinficatie Vina Artadi El Carretil 2016

Uiteraard zijn de druiventrossen optimaal rijp en met de hand geoogst. Elke druiventros wordt uitgeselecteerd en bekeken. Vervolgens volgt er een koude schilweking van ongeveer twee dagen, waarna de alcoholische vergisting begint. Na een proces van 14 maanden volgt de botteling. Kortom is Artadi uit Rioja van Sublieme Spaanse klasse.

Wanneer je het over het wijngebied Rioja hebt, praat je al snel over Artadi uit Rioja. Waarom? Omdat het simpelweg van uitmuntende kwaliteit is. Het wijnhuis staat op eenzame hoogte wat betreft de kwaliteit en beroemdheid. De status kan je vergelijken met:

Tijdens het genieten van deze Artadi Vina El Pison tref je in de neus aroma’s van eucalyptus, laurier, veel rijp fruit en fijne lokale kruiden. In het smaakpalet veel bessenfruit in combinatie met houtrijping en affiniteit. 

Artadi Rioja is kwaliteit uit 3 Rioja gebieden

Vina Artadi produceert de geweldige wijnen in drie wijngebieden:

  • Rioja Alavesa
  • Navarra
  • Alicante

Hieruit halen ze de beste druiven die horen bij verschillende soorten bodems. Elke druif heeft een eigen ondergrond nodig. Bovendien produceert Artadi in Rioja zowel biologisch als biodynamisch. Voornamelijk zijn de wijnen gemaakt van de tempranillo-druif. Deze is niet voor niets koning van Rioja. Het wijnhuis bezit 70 hectare wijngaarden, waarvan het grootste gedeelte uit kalkhoudende grond bestaat.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
