Vanda: pracht en praal
Deze prachtige Orchideeën-soort is er in diverse maten, in tal van kleuren en in bijzondere soorten, met prachtige stippen en strepen op de bloemen. Bovendien zijn Vanda’s erg lang houdbaar; ze staan rustig vier weken op de vaas. De Vanda is ook zeer geschikt voor gebruik in bruidsboeketten en rouwarrangementen; liefst in een buisje met water, maar de bloemen kunnen ook los in de stukken worden gelijmd. Ook in moderne florale objecten zijn Vanda’s leuk te verwerken, door ze bijvoorbeeld per bloemetje in een buisje te plaatsen tussen mooie takkenconstructies. Met haar lange grijze luchtwortels leeft de Vanda van de luchtvochtigheid; ze hoeft dus niet in een pot te staan, maar kan als losse plant of in een glasvaas worden opgehangen. De decoratieve wortels zijn mooi te verwerken in florale objecten, maar ook de plant als geheel staat erg mooi in grote objecten.
Herkomst Vanda Allerlei variaties van in het wild groeiende Vanda’s zijn te vinden in het noorden van Thailand. Ze zitten hoog in de boom met hun wortels loshangend in de lucht of om de boom geslingerd. De wortels nemen het water van de ochtenddauw en een regenbui zeer snel op. De meeste Vanda’s die op de markt komen, zijn kruisingen van de blauwe Vanda Coerulea met de tweekleurige Vanda Sanderiana. Vanda’s in tuincentra zijn vermeerderd in een laboratorium.

Great Glow and Scent, But Fades Quickly and Runs Out Fast

The Saltair Shimmering Body Oil in Salt Water Vanilla is a beautiful product. The only 3 reasons I don’t give it 5 stars are because: 1. The shimmer is not very long-lasting. When I apply it before bed, most of the shimmer effect is completely gone and absorbed by my sheets by the morning. I assume pants and leggings would absorb it in the same way, but I’ve only ever worn shorts after applications during the day, and even then, the shimmer seems to fade after 4–6 hours. 2. I have to apply a lot of oil to achieve the amount of shimmer I desire. It averages about 20–25 pumps per use. 3. The 4-ounce bottle size, combined with needing a lot of product for each application, means I’m going to run out of it pretty quickly. Here’s why I like this product: 1. The glow: If you’re looking for a subtle glow and a light shimmer effect, this oil is perfect for you; apply it before a night out, while wearing a swimsuit, or when going to the gym in your favorite workout set for a beautiful gleam. 2. The scent: It’s a divine, warm mix of sweet and spicy notes. It smells like vanilla, amber, and toasted marshmallow. It pairs really nicely with tropical, woodsy, sweet, or spicy perfumes—it’s very versatile. 3. Consistency and absorption: The oil absorbs nicely and has a light, runny consistency. Because it’s a dry oil, it isn’t too thick, nor does it leave a sticky feeling on the skin. 4. How my skin feels: I’ve used this oil 4 nights in a row, and every single morning I wake up, my skin feels so soft and smooth, with no residual stickiness or residue left behind.
