Dit veelgeprezen spel is vooral geschikt voor mensen die van uitdagende abstracte spellen, maar tegelijkertijd van eenvoudige spelregels houden. Het spel is zeer gemakkelijk te leren, maar om te winnen moet je van goede huize komen. De nieuwste editie van Qwirkle is nu ook geschikt gemaakt voor mensen die moeite met het onderscheiden van kleuren hebben!

Elke ronde legt een speler één van zijn getrokken stenen aan het speelveld. Daarbij moeten alle tegels in een serie hetzelfde symbool of dezelfde kleur hebben. In een serie mogen nooit 2 volledig gelijke tegels voorkomen. Na het leggen van een tegel krijg je direct punten voor de serie(s) die je hebt uitgebreid. Lukt het je om de zesde steen in een serie neer te leggen, dan scoor je een Qwirkle, die 6 extra punten waard is. Het spel is voorbij zodra een speler zijn laatste tegel heeft gespeeld en daarmee 6 extra punten verdient. De speler met de meeste punten wint het spel!
