The EMPI Adjustable IRS Spring Plates are a high-performance suspension upgrade specifically designed for the 1973-1974 VW Thing (Type 181) and custom off-road applications. Featuring a 4 1/4" collar matched for 24 11/16” torsion bars, these plates allow you to fine-tune your rear ride height by approximately 2" to 3" without the need for the tedious process of re-indexing the torsion bar splines.

Built from heavy-duty steel with a durable painted finish, these plates solve the common issue of "driver's side sag" by allowing independent side-to-side leveling. They are also a staple for Baja Bug and Sand Rail builders who have swapped to the 24 11/16" medium-length bars for improved suspension travel and damping characteristics.
