Bariatric Shower/Commode/Transport Chair 600 lb Capacity – Width Adjustable, Self-Propelling – MaxiBathe™ by Platinum Health

The MaxiBathe™ Bariatric Shower/Commode/Transport Chair is a multi-function hygiene solution designed to support safer bathing, toileting, and mobility for higher-capacity users. Featuring a width-adjustable frame, self-propelling rear wheels, and a padded seating system, this shower commode chair provides flexibility and control in both homecare and professional environments.

At Independent Living Superstore, we focus on practical, real-world bath and hygiene solutions that balance durability, comfort, and caregiver efficiency. The MaxiBathe stands out as a versatile, high-capacity option for users who need more than a standard shower or commode chair.

Best For

  • Bariatric users requiring high-capacity support
  • Users who need a combined shower, commode, and transport solution
  • Caregiver-assisted hygiene routines
  • Users who benefit from self-propelling mobility
  • Homecare and facility environments needing flexible equipment

Real-World Use Scenario

This chair is ideal for users who require a single solution for bathing, toileting, and short-distance transport. Caregivers can assist with positioning and hygiene tasks, while users who are able may use the self-propelling wheels for independent movement within safe environments.

Maneuverability / Placement

Large self-propelling rear wheels and oversized front casters allow smoother movement across thresholds and bathroom surfaces. Independent wheel and caster brakes provide controlled positioning, helping secure the chair during transfers and use.

The width-adjustable frame (approximately 28"–34") allows the chair to be narrowed for doorway access or widened for increased comfort and stability.

Fit & Compatibility Guide

This chair is designed for indoor hygiene use, including shower and over-toilet applications. Confirm that your bathroom layout can accommodate the adjustable width range and allows enough clearance for turning, positioning, and caregiver access.

Support / Safety / Performance

The medical-grade aluminum frame is rust-resistant and built for long-term use in wet environments. With a weight capacity of up to 600 lbs, the chair provides stable support for higher-capacity users when used as intended.

Integrated braking systems allow both the rear wheels and front casters to be locked, helping maintain stability during transfers, bathing, and toileting.

Comfort / Usability

Closed-cell polyurethane padding on the seat, backrest, and armrests provides a comfortable surface that does not absorb water and is easy to clean. The soft, warm material helps reduce friction and supports more comfortable daily use.

The adjustable seat width (approximately 18"–24" between armrests) allows for a more customized fit based on user needs.

Design & Convenience

The 3-in-1 design allows this chair to function as a shower chair, bedside commode, and over-toilet commode. The removable commode insert and pail allow quick transitions between uses without requiring additional equipment.

Retractable armrests and footrests support easier transfers and repositioning during daily routines.

Caregiver / Transfer Support

This chair is designed to improve caregiver control while reducing the need for multiple transfers. The adjustable width, flip-away components, and stable frame allow caregivers to assist with safer positioning and movement throughout bathing and toileting routines.

Still 4 stars

A little to much before and to much dive into the days, months before, but I still kept reading. Maybe because of that you could read about them all. I just couldn't put this book in my to read another day list. I just wanted to know what happens to them.

Promising but not without issues
Format: Kindle
First off, the FMC and the pack don't meet until about 60% of the way through. That's just way too late honestly. I can appreciate the backstory of the band and the FMC, but I skimmed at times wondering when they'd meet. I did like the writing and premise but I thought the execution needed a lot of work. The characters were pretty well developed, but they didn't spend that much time on the page together, so I thought that led to the story suffering. I will give her another shot, as I think the writing has promise... It just didn't come all together in a way that I could wholeheartedly recommend.

I really tried to finish this book. There was too much detail in more than half the book. They do not even meet for. Ore than half the book. If you are looking for spice, this is not the book for you. This is more a late teen if that. I stopped reading when she made her choice of men for her first time. There isn’t any urge to read the next chapter. Easy to put down.

All The Things!!
Format: Kindle
This is definitely worth reading! The spice is nice, but the story itself is truly an epic literary treat! Tessa and her Alphas are a powerhouse force of nature who will capture your heart. This story is also a great reminder of how fickle life can be and how quickly everything can change for anyone. Every single person, billionaire to janitor, is nothing but one tragic event away from being in the same situation as Tessa was in. ❤️

Kind of difficult to get through for the first half but worth the read!
Format: Kindle
3.75/5 ⭐️ What this book lacked in being fully polished, it made up for in world and character building for sure! While the first half was hard to get through, as this is a book that starts you in the present and then goes back and forth between different times in the past to get you up to speed with what’s happening in the future (and it’s not all chronological in the past which made it even harder), once all of the book is set in the present, Tessa and her pack, Ryder, Dixon, Mac, and Tray, (and of course Josie the cat,) all begin their journeys of finding themselves both individually and within their pack which is so rewarding to see after all of the tragedy and sadness detailed in their last few years leading up to meeting. I think this book could’ve done with another beta reader or two to polish up grammatical errors as well, some of those took me out of the story for a minute to try to figure out what was trying to be communicated. Overall, this story filled with so many dichotomies of love and loss, grief and happiness, hurt and comfort, all culminating in a lovely story of a pack that strengthens each other after many tribulations, and it warms your heart so so much to see them go through every version of themselves, landing on secure and happy individuals who make a wonderful pack together. Would absolutely recommend if you like slow burn, rockstar, big city, and initially heavy and a bit dark but fades into comfort and fluffy omegaverse stories!
