У раритетній публікації мемуарного характеру уродженця Тернополя Романа Крохмалюка (1906–1990), вперше виданій в українській діаспорі 1978 р., міститься важлива інформація про передумови, творення і бойовий шлях 14-ї ґренадерської дивізії військ СС 'Галичина' – підрозділу в складі військ Ваффен-СС Німеччини, що існував у 1943–1945 роках і був укомплектований з українців-греко-католиків, а 19 квітня 1945 р. переукомплектований у Першу Українську дивізію Української Національної Армії.
