Shaking Hand follow up their acclaimed debut with a glistening cover of Badly Drawn Boy's The Shining, to announce a 17 date EU tour. Paying homage to an often overlooked time in Manchester’s music scene, the band turn the original's swelling brass & strings into blissful post-rock guitars. The track pulls back to the bands earliest inspirations as children in the car back seat, as George explains.

"Badly Drawn Boy is an important artist for me and Fred as he frequently soundtracked a lot of our younger lives, long car journeys in particular. The Hour of Bewilderbeast is an album I still come back to and has probably had the most longevity in our lives so I've always wanted to cover a song from this album. We didn't just want to cover that was just a re hash of the original and with the Shining we could instantly put our own spin on by changing the instrumentation. It's nice to play a song from an era of Manchester music that can sometimes feel overlooked because the music wasn't all maracas and bucket hats."

It's already made all of the bands' Dads cry and had the seal of approval from B.D.B himself, and comes alongside the announcement of a debut European tour in November 2026. The tour crosses Northern Europe and back and is headlined by the band’s biggest headlines to date at Manchester’s The White Hotel and Brixton’s Club Cheek.

The artwork is entitled ‘QTH 73’ by Brighton based artist Max Mitchell. Shaking Hand are George Hunter (Vocals, Guitar), Freddie Hunter (Drums) & Ellis Hodgkiss (Bass).

Double check sizing
Too big for my toddler, recommend sizing down. Quality is good if the fit is good.

Yay!
My baby recently needed new socks, and I was looking based on three thing: - will they stay up - do they have traction - do they dig in and leave those awful red marks on him These socks not only have the stretch spot at the top like most socks, but they also have a stretchy spot at the ankle. So, yes, they stay on! Hallelujah! This also keeps them from digging in an extra lot at the top, so they're not messing up his circulation. The brand stamp on the bottom offers a little traction, but it's not exactly what I would call 'having traction.' Of course, most babies of my son's age don't actually need it, but I feel like that last little bit would take these socks over the top. Bonus - they're not cheap and falling apart, and they've got a nice knit to them. They're light. They're airy. They're great summer socks. They fit easily into soft shoes. Don't buy these as heavy winter socks. Heading into summer, though, I'm quite certain we'll be getting plenty of use out of these.
