Anton Lindforss was born December 8, 1890, Tampere. He was a Finnish expressionist painter and member of the art group Marraskuulaisten ryhmään (Novemberists) led by Tyko Sallinen.
After graduating school Lindforss initially studied law but then transferred to fine art and studied at the drawing room of the University of Helsinki in from 1909 to 1910 and at the drawing school of the Finnish Art Association in from 1910 to 1911. In 1914, Lindforss went on a study trip to England and then joined the Novemberists led by Tyko Sallinen.
In 1921, Lindforss bought this Humala studio located in Hyvinkää from Jalmari Ruokokoski. He lived in Hyvinkää until 1938, when he moved to the artists' home in Lalluka.
Lindforss was an enthusiastic landscape painter and he took regular painting trips, particularly to Lapland, whose landscapes were of a regular subject. He photographed Savoland landscapes, and the Finnish city of Kuopio has even honoured him by naming a bridge in the Saaristokaupunki district after him. Critics and the public alike liked Lindforss's art, the artist was financially successful.
