Designed to fit the monitoring needs of space-challenged environments like machine rooms, surveillance operations, and mobile or stationary control rooms, the Fostex RM-3DT is a Dante-equipped active monitor speaker that occupies just 1 RU of rack space. It can accept digital signal over a Dante network or a stereo analog source via balanced XLR inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of systems. Signal can be output in one of four modes to the built-in rectangular stereo speakers, while the balanced XLR output jacks act as a thru-put to send the analog input to another destination. The front-panel 1/4" headphone jack allows for personal monitoring without pushing sound through the speakers.

Left and right 26-dot LED meters give you a visual representation of your levels. The volume control also functions as a mute switch, which can be programmed for total mute, or to provide a 20 dB attenuation based on your preference. The RM-3DT supports sample rates up to 96 kHz and features a power-saving design that keeps its power consumption down to just 10W. Sporting the same dimensions as the non-Dante RM-3, the RM-3DT can be conveniently swapped in its place.

Analog and Digital Inputs

Accepts balanced analog sources via two XLR 3-pin female inputs and Dante signal via an RJ45 female input

Built-In Speakers

Outputs either or both of any 2-channel digital signals extracted from Dante network signals to built-in rectangular speakers, each powered by 10W of onboard amplification

Line and Headphone Outputs

High-Resolution Audio

Supports sample rates up to 96 kHz

Dual LED Meters

Low Power Consumption

Digital amplifier and switching power supply yield a power-saving design

Piece of Junk
Style: ET-5150, Set: ET PRO FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
This printer worked fine until about a week ago. It jammed six paper jambs in a row, and then it did not recognize the 8.5x11 paper that I had been using from day one. The copy feeder on top of the printer quit, and when it did work, it fed the copy in almost sideways. I have a box of ink for this copier, and I would like to shove it back to the supplier for the wonder piece BS equipment. I have bought a black ink cartage for my nearly 8-year-old Brother Copier and my office is back in business. Epson ECOTANK Pro ET-5150 is not ready for prime time by a cartage machine.

Great printer, save money on ink; Most issues are very easy to fix
Style: ET-5150, Set: ET PRO FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
I convinced my boss to buy my first 5150 about 3 years ago and our second one earlier this year. I am happy with my purchase. I have barely had to swap out the maintenance box, and they are cheap anyways. The print quality is quite good, just need to run some cleaning protocols to fix most of them. We did have to open up a printer for some deeper cleaning but there were videos online to fix it. The most common issue is paper jams, but I print a lot and its pretty rare if the paper isn't janky. You can also easily fix by pulling the printer forward and taking off a panel in the back to fish out paper.

Good value
Style: ET-5150, Set: ET PRO FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
I think 3.5 would be about right. I had a Canon color laser printer that I loved! The problem was that after 6 years it started to need name brand toner at $45/each. I decided to co for something that would print cheaper, because it turns out I don't print as much as I used to, so having a commercial printer is no needed. I like the tanks a lot and they are super easy to fill. The first fill does not use a whole bottle, but then it settles and the next day you can top off the tanks with the rest of the bottle. The print quality is good. I have printed a few hundred pages and it is working as it should, and the tanks don't seem to have dropped but a touch. Much cheaper than toner for sure. The weird thing is that when you scan, it does not know that there is paper in the feeder, so you hear the flat bed scanner run first, and then the tray starts feeding. Also, it prints on both sides, but it does not scan both sides automatically with the feeder, you have to flip each sheet. This is a serious bummer for me as I do a lot of 2-sided scanner. So far so good. If things go south I will revise.

18 months and going strong

Edit 1/18/26: 2 years in, and I just topped off the ink. I used the extra bottle of black that came with it, and bought a set of color ink for the first time. Love it. Original: I’ve had this printer for 18 months and love it. I haven’t even had to refill the ink yet! I print a fair amount, not constantly, but I homeschool and print things for church and scouts also. I’m able to connect easily from my Windows laptop, Mac desktop, and iPhone. Automatic double sided printing is great. Color printing is good quality. Printing on card stock can get jammed, but there’s a rear bypass for that. It’s annoying that you have to do a single sheet at a time, but oh well. Copying and scanning is handy.
