Human beings can only reach the divine through the external world of which we are a part: this is the true meaning of magic. Every thought, word, and action in our everyday lives can become an instrument for bringing about that magical return. Sacred ceremonies, in particular, have the ability to awaken inner life and "unite heaven and earth."

B Yin R tells us that we are moving into a new epoch in which human beings will no longer need stories and ceremonies as vessels for those energies our distant ancestors could not unite within themselves and so had to attribute to gods. In the future, a more mature humanity will be able to recognize the essence of the eternal Spirit through direct experience.
