Tin dioxide (SnO2) is a wide bandgap n-type metal oxide semiconductor material. SnO2 crystal belongs to the tetragonal square crystal system, with a double cone shape, cone column shape, sometimes needle shaped, and a rutile structure. Its lattice constants are a=b=0.4738 nm and c=0.3187 nm. The theoretical density of pure SnO2 is 6.95 g/cm3, and it exhibits an insulating state at room temperature with high electrical resistivity. Its electrical, optical, and gas sensing properties are difficult to meet the requirements for use. After doping tin dioxide, its properties undergo significant changes, with high conductivity, high transmittance, and good gas sensing properties. Therefore, doped SnO2 has been widely used in many fields such as gas sensors, catalysis, coatings, electrode materials, etc.

XFI53 is fluorine doped tin dioxide (FTO), which is an important transparent conductive oxide.

Low resistivity: Through fluorine doping, the resistivity of tin dioxide is significantly reduced, improving its conductivity.

Chemical stability: After doping with fluorine, the chemical stability of tin dioxide is improved, which can resist acid, alkali, and atmospheric corrosion, as well as withstand high temperature annealing treatment.

Heat resistance: Compared to other transparent conductive materials, fluorine doped tin dioxide has better heat resistance and can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments.

Strong UV absorption ability: Fluorine doped tin dioxide has a high absorption coefficient for ultraviolet light and has a certain UV shielding ability.


Application Fields

 

Solar cells: FTO, as a transparent electrode material, is widely used in dye-sensitized solar cells and perovskite solar cells, improving the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the cells.

Display: In liquid crystal displays (LCD) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, FTO serves as a transparent conductive layer for addressing and driving pixels.

Gas sensing element: FTO film can be used as the sensitive layer of gas sensing element to detect harmful gases or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air.

Building curtain wall glass and transparent windows: FTO film can be coated on building curtain wall glass and transparent windows to provide conductivity, anti-static, and anti fog functions.

Other applications: FTO can also be used in various fields such as sensors, digital displays, smart window coatings, catalyst supports, etc.
