Chanting of the Lotus Sutra is traditionally read in Shindoku - a Japanese reading of Chinese Characters. Shindoku reading is sometimes refered to as a faith reading. The practice of reading in Shindoku allows the reader to touch their innate Buddha Nature that we each posses. The Romanized Sutra was first introduced for pilgrims going to Mt. Minobu the head Temple of Nichiren Shu and for convience contains prayers and invocations from a traditional Nichiren Shu style service. It can be used by itself or with other liturgy books.
