Aged 82 at the time this live recording was made at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in London in 2010, the legendary improvising saxophonist Lee Konitz continues to break new ground with the quartet's co-leaders, bassist Michael Janisch, pianist Dan Tepfer and drummer Jeff Williams.Over the decades Konitz has deepened and pushed further his highly original way of improvising. The repertoire on 'First Meeting' is ostensibly of well known standards, familiar to the players, but they merely serve as a jumping-off point for the quartet to head off in any direction. Without rehearsal, plan or preconceived idea of the music's end result, the whole context is one of spontaneity and immediacy.The music on this album is extracted from six hours of music recorded over two nights. Under Konitz's instruction, anyone could start playing a melody and the rest of the band could join in, or not. As a result, 'First Meeting' features some stellar solo intros alongside duo, trio and, of course, full quartet performances. This first volume also captures the more concise statements that were recorded, where tunes were started and finished. Ok but not Leather
Pattern Name: Tug Rag
I will say it's fairly durable but when the description uses the word leather..one would expect LEATHER, not microfiber. That said..it is thick and pretty durable and the dog does like it ok. Obviously the strap is NOT meant for chewing. This is not a throw it on the ground and let ur dog have it sort of a toy. It's an interactive toy. If left to the dog most would scissor the strap off in the first 10 minutes. Something to keep in mind. In summation..an ok interactive toy but over priced for the material.

My dogs favorite toy
The tail lasted about 1 minute, but otherwise it has held up pretty good from my super chewer dog, and he treasures it like a prize. I'll need to get a replacement one as its not indestructible, but overall I'm happy with it.

Not as tough as the salmon.
We have the salmon from the same manufacturer and it has endured as few other dog toys have. Unfortunately, the squirrel lasted only two days before developing a ripped seam and began loosing stuffing. Maybe a defective toy based on other reviews.
