This is an exciting glimpse into the world of black American funk, jazz and soul from the early 70s. The music has a political agenda, even when it isn't overtly preaching a message. Recorded after the 60s dream had ended, during the era of Watergate, the oil crisis and financial crash, there is a schizophrenic edge to the music here. There are tracks about trying to get things right, but also about partying as a way to forget. Street funk from Oliver Sain, Dave Hamilton, Billie Sha Rae is showcased alongside the jazzier sounds of Oliver Nelson, "Groove" Holmes and Harold Alexander. There is also the first flowering of disco with the Fatback-related 'Mucho Macho' (we feature the previously unissued extended version) and Chet Ivey tracks. The compilation features many sides to be released on CD for the first time, including two Detroit funk gems from the vaults of Dave Hamilton. Another first release is 'Chains' from Gil Scott Heron's college group Black And Blues.

Tracks:
1.1 Dose of Soul - Chet Ivey and His Fabulous Avengers
1.2 Skull Session - Oliver Nelson
1.3 125th and 7th Avenue - Richard 'Groove' Holmes
1.4 A Chance for Peace (7 Inch Edit) - Lonnie Liston Smith

Great organizer
Color: Black with Lid
This is a nice organizer for items that men have in their pockets or need to grab quickly when they go out. The wireless charger is a nice upgrade from older style valets.

Love the design and shape - Customer Service Amazing
Color: Black with Lid
UPDATED READ BELOW: Initial review: I think this is a great product, at a great price. Unfortunately, the wireless charger mine came with doesn’t work. It’ll charge for a few seconds, shut off, start charging, immediately shut back off - repeating this cycle. I’ve used the included cable, and two other cables as well as different outlets. Unfortunately, I threw out the box before checking this so can’t return to replace it…ugh Updated approx 3 weeks later: Seller reached out and sent me a replacement charger at no cost, it works perfectly so far (even though it has been a day lol) but no issues, no complaints here. Love this organizer - feels premium. Definitely recommend

Great organizer but will only charge a phone
Color: Black with Lid
My husband likes all the compartments. The only negative is that it doesn’t charge multiple items like AirPods or tablets. It is a very sturdy design and looks like it would organize things on a drop and go table.
