Six Questions Your Togo's Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this deli restaurant financial projections model using our own research on high-volume sandwich units. Key assumptions like the $30,000 franchise fee, 5% royalty, and 3% marketing fund are pre-populated and fully editable. With Year 1 revenue starting at $1,065,000 and EBITDA hitting $278,000, this tool helps you track how catering and retail sales drive your bottom line.

When does profitability begin?

This unit becomes profitable in Year 1, reaching its break-even date in April 2026. By Year 5, net profit is projected to climb significantly as EBITDA reaches $618,000 after accounting for all royalties and fixed costs. Profitability is a marathon, not a sprint.

Boosting Unit Profit

  • Maximize high-margin catering orders
  • Reduce food waste percentages
  • Optimize crew labor schedules
[dynamic_pic9]

What is the total investment?

How to calculate startup costs for a sandwich franchise starts with the $543,000 capital expenditure budget, which includes the $280,000 build-out and $110,000 for kitchen equipment. Your lowest cash point hits $728,000 in May 2026, requiring a solid initial funding source. Know exactly where every dollar goes before you sign.

Primary Capital Uses

  • Store build-out: $280,000
  • Kitchen equipment: $110,000
  • Franchise fee: $30,000
  • Furniture and fixtures: $45,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What returns can an investor expect?

Your ROI analysis shows a 4-year payback period and an IRR of 4.34% based on these pro forma financial statements for franchise units. The ROE stands at 1.6, reflecting the steady cash flow generated as revenue grows toward the $1.88M Year 5 target. ROI is the only metric that truly matters to your bank.

Key Success Metrics

  • 4-year payback period
  • 4.34% Internal Rate of Return
  • 1.6 Return on Equity
[dynamic_pic11]

Where is the break-even point?

Financial modeling for new franchise locations shows the unit hits monthly break-even in April 2026, just four months after opening. The primary driver for break-even is managing the $14,500 monthly rent and the 8% total royalty and marketing burden. Break-even is the finish line for the startup phase.

Levers for Speed

  • Increase average ticket size
  • Drive catering sales volume
  • Control variable payment fees
[dynamic_pic12]

How much cash runway is required?

Estimating operating costs for a deli restaurant reveals a lowest cash point of $728,000 in May 2026. You need enough liquidity to cover the first five months of operations, and a cash buffer is defintely recommended to handle any ramp-up delays. Cash is oxygen; don't run out during the ramp-up.

Protecting Cash Flow

  • Phase equipment purchases
  • Negotiate lease commencement dates
  • Manage opening food inventory
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios impact results?

This sandwich shop business plan financial model shows that a high scenario improves Year 1 EBITDA by accelerating the $140,000 catering launch. Low scenarios might push the 4-year payback further out if crew labor exceeds the planned 5.0 FTE count early on. Scenarios help you prepare for the best and worst days.

Hitting the High Case

  • Aggressive B2B catering outreach
  • High customer retention rates
  • Efficient mobile order throughput

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN 😊
Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 3 Panel
I purchased RANTILA 3 Panel Room Divider, 6 Ft Tall Folding Privacy Screen Freestanding Room Partition Wall Dividers, 102''W x 20''D x 71''H, Grey. For outdoor use on my patio is perfect . PRIVACY!!! YAY! It was packaged very carefully. There were no missing parts. Instructions were there but I still had to use the video visually. A few screws would not screw in. So I used a hammer with a few good taps that helped using the screw driver. 😊 It was easy putting it together following the directions. Everything is well made. Love the height, functionality and it’s definitely light it works. Thank you

It’s really pretty decent except for one thing.
Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 4 Panel, Color: Grey, Size: 34" - 4 Panel
I bought two of these for my basement and they do look great. They were easy to assemble and I’m happy with them. The problem is that the stitching on the fabric panels are almost the size of a machine basting stitch (which for non sewers means large temporary stitches). Because the panels are tight by design, the stitches had already started to come undone before I could finish assembling everything. Fortunately I can sew and I reinforced all the panels. I had to take the first ones back off the poles to do them but I did the second set before assembling. It’s really not a bad product for the money. It’s quality fabric and the design itself looks great. The stitching looks fine but it’s just not substantial enough for the purpose it is supposed to serve. I can’t imagine why it be sewn so insufficiently. I was able to resolve my issue because I can sew. I wasn’t planning on sewing nor did I really have the time. I could have made it myself but I didn’t want to and that is why I purchased this. I ended up using valuable time. The really unfortunate thing is, I have no other complaints. This is a manufacturing problem.

We had a hot request for a workstation in the warehouse with some privacy. These have worked great. Easy to assemble. They are lightweight and stable. This was an inexpensive solution that looks professional. Our client loved it.

Dont wait! Assemble right away! Just in case you need to return it.
Color: Black, Size: 22" - 4 Panel
Ok, I like the idea of this but the assembly is frustrating. One side lined up perfectly with the holes however, the small bars that connect the screen to base is not lining up. I think it's do the fabric the screen or divider is made of. It's not stretchy. I brought this months ago and just opened it today. I'm upset and don't even think returning it is possible. If the material was a bit longer or stretchy to give a little room to work with this divider would be great. However, I'm not sure what I can use it for since I'm unable to attach it to the bottom. Beware! Don't wait like me. Tip for the manufacturer. Next time invest in Velcro dividers so the fabric can be adjusted with ease. Literally if I take the screen off the frame aligns perfectly. However, it defeats its purpose of privacy. I might buy some material myself and create a more flexible divider. Or I'll buy Velcro myself and attach to the bottom. I don't know yet.
