Title: Antique Bronze Standing Lopburi Buddha. Khmer Influence. 19/20th Century.

An exceptional Bronze alloy Lopburi Crowned Buddha, originating from a temple precinct in the historical province of Lopburi, one of the oldest occupied cities in northern Thailand, a city subordinate to the rule of the Khmer Empire, and subsequently came under the influence of their art and culture by the 13th to 15th century, a time commonly called the 'Lopburi Period' in Thai Art History.

Depicting strong Khmer influence, the image portrays a Lopburi Buddha standing on a small plinth, a symmetrically arranged figure modeled with a somewhat flattened profile with both hands raise in the 'Abhaya' mudra, the fearless gesture of reassurance blessing and protection. He is richly crowned and adorned in jewels, dressed in royal attire with the robe covering both shoulders, secured by a decorative belt and ornamented with a jeweled necklace. The diaphanous garment itself is simplistic in design, draped over the arms, with the presence of an undergarment visible at the hem of the outer robe.

Typical of Lopburi figures the head is covered by a tiered cranial protuberance and enclosed diadem. The face with downcast expression, ridged eyebrows connected above a prominent nose, incised broad lips and small smile, and elongated earlobes adorned in triangular earring pendants to the shoulders.

Sculpted in the form of a standing image, the figure was primarily cast from 'Copper' (90%) and 'Tin' (10%), obtained from the smelting of sacred metals and religious artifact fragments. Several holy minerals were then added in completing the purity of the metal - for instance black mercury from Laos, Nampy Steel from Prasaeng pond in Utaradit province, and the most sacred and important rare mineral was Chaonamngern (Blue Metal) found only in some heavily wooded areas in the mountainous regions of Thailand.

In addition, prior to the actual manufacturing of these sacred figures - magic letters and drawings are created according to ancient holy scriptures, established by master Buddhist Monks; along with extensive ceremonial prayer, practiced by the gathering of several temple monks. After production of the Buddha - they are blessed and consecrated through infinite virtues and supreme meditative powers.

Absolutely The Best!!
Flavor Name: Rabbit, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Our dog (Aussie/Border Collie) has a sensitive stomach and these work great for her! She loves all the flavors (especially salmon and turkey & veggies) and at only about a calorie each, it's pretty much impossible for her to over eat. These work GREAT for training treats, too!

I try to give my dog, whom I love so much, the healthies food and treats that i can. She is so very picky and it's difficult to find things she likes. She loves these treats and expectes one every morning. She litterally waites by the pantry door for one. The are healthy Human grate chicken chips. Makes me feel better about giving her a treat. I would Highly recommend.
