Historic Map : Colton Map of China, Taiwan, and Korea, 1856, Vintage Wall ArtAn excellent 1855 first edition example of Colton's map of China, Korea and Taiwan. Like most of Colton's Asia maps, this map was derived from an earlier wall map of the world produced by Colton and D. Griffing Johnson. Covers from Mongolia to Hainan and from Tibet to Korea. Identifies both the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. Inset maps in the lower left quadrant detail Canton and Amoy. Taiwan or Formosa is mapped vaguely, representing the poor

An excellent 1855 first edition example of Colton's map of China, Korea and Taiwan. Taiwan or Formosa is mapped vaguely, representing the poor knowledge of the region prior to the Japanese invasion and subsequent survey work in 1895. The map identifies both Hong Kong and Macao. The disputed body of water between Korea and Japan is here identified as the Sea of Japan.

During this time in history, this region was dominated by China's last Imperial Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty. The Second Opium War or the Arrow War lasted from 1856 to 1860 resulting in China signing the treaty of Tientsin and Hong Kong was ceded over to the British. China also witnessed the Taiping Rebellion against the Qing Dynasty between 1851 and 1862. Considered one of the bloodiest wars in human history, it cost more than 20 million lives.

This map also identifies various cities, towns, rivers, deserts, and an assortment of additional topographical details. Map is hand colored in pink, green, yellow and blue pastels to define provincial and state boundaries. Surrounded by Colton's typical spiral motif border. Dated and copyrighted to J. H. Colton, 1855. Published from Colton's 172 William Street Office in New York City. Issued as page no. 28 in volume 2 of Colton's 1856 Atlas of the World.

Durable duck toy for man’s best friend
Although it was suggested that this toy would be best for small breeds, I found that it’s durable enough for my 80 pound Irish setter! It has literally become his best friend. He takes it everywhere he goes! There’s a small squeaky noise that comes from the neck area that he has to work to find. I’m sure he will eventually destroy this as he has with all his other toys, but it’s really holding up much better than anticipated. It is well worth the $10 cost.

Really cute, well made dog toy. Was a huge hit with our pup
This toy was a big hit! Pros - love the heavy duty burlap-kinda fabric. Our new puppy has razor sharp teeth but this fabric is holding up really well. - size is great for a variety of breeds - shape is perfect for grabbing onto. Our puppy especially likes picking it up on the neck where the toy is more slender - the extra little feet and wing flaps add some interest that have really kept her occupied Cons - the squeaker is in the neck where the fabric has embellishments and is a little thicker. It's a little hard to activate the squeaker but maybe the toy/stuffing needs to get broken in more and then it will be easier to squeeze that section

Awesome ball and made to last!
Color: Black & Yellow
Awesome ball! My dog loves it and plays with it all the time. He's a very aggressive chewer and there are only a few toys he can have without destroying them. Very pleased with this.

Pretty tough
Color: Black & Lake Blue
I think the toy is great, but my dog was not excited about it. He prefers the original type which is larger. I think it could possibly be cracked open by a dog with a large mouth and is intent on getting the noise maker out. But it is pretty tough.
