Wie so manches konnte dieser nicht wie geplant in Bad Brückenau stattfinden, aber viele Beiträgerinnen und Beiträger steuerten ihre schon erstellten Artikel für diesen Band bei. Bis dato war das Bild des Weges, des Unterwegsseins ein sehr geläufiges, eigentlich alltägliches Bild für unser Leben, eine passende Metapher: Ständig waren wir in Bewegung, selbst wenn wir manchmal innehielten. Die Pandemie hat da eine deutliche Zäsur in unser aller Leben gebracht, dazu für einige viel Zeit, darüber nachzudenken, ob all diese Wege notwendig sind, gewandert, gereist, bewältigt werden müssen. Dieses Buch mag Antworten darauf geben, zumindest dazu ermuntern, unsere Wege, die der Märchenheldinnen und -helden und die der Märchen wahrzunehmen, zu benennen, zu begutachten. Eine weitere kleine Fachtagung zum Thema »Märchen – Kunst« konnte 2020 gehalten werden. Drei erhellende Aufsätze zu bildender Kunst, Lyrik und Musik sind zusätzlich in diesem Band aufgenommen. Herausgegeben im Auftrag der Europäischen Märchengesellschaft von Harlinda Lox, Annette Martin und Sabine Lutkat.
