Fettercairn 2007/2022 - 15 y.o. - Cask Strength - Hart Brothers

Besonderheiten: Dieser 15 Jahre alte Fettercairn Single Malt wurde im September 2007 destilliert und im September 2022 von Hart Brothers in Fassstärke abgefüllt. Er reifte in einem amerikanischen Eichenfass und wurde weder kühlgefiltert noch gefärbt, was seine natürlichen Aromen bewahrt.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Frisch und saftig mit Noten von Zitrusfrüchten, Äpfeln und Birnen, begleitet von einem Hauch Ingwer. Mit der Zeit entwickeln sich zusätzliche Zitrusnoten wie Limette und Orange, sowohl in der Schale als auch im Saft, sowie Vanille.
  • Gaumen: Vollmundig und ebenso frisch wie die Nase verspricht, mit Aromen von Limette und Orange, weissem Pfeffer und prickelndem Ingwer. Ein leichter Hauch von Staubigkeit und eine dezente Eichennote ergänzen das Geschmackserlebnis.
  • Abgang: Mittellang und bleibt durchgehend frisch und zitrusartig, mit einer leichten Eichenwürze und einem Hauch frischer Kräuter im Nachklang.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Fettercairn Distillery, gegründet 1824 von Sir Alexander Ramsay, liegt am Fusse der Grampian Mountains in den schottischen Highlands. Sie ist bekannt für ihre einzigartige Kühltechnik, bei der ein Wasserstrahl über die Kupferbrennblasen geleitet wird, um den Destillationsprozess zu optimieren. Hart Brothers, ein unabhängiger Abfüller mit Wurzeln im späten 19. Jahrhundert, ist bekannt für die Auswahl erstklassiger Vintage Single Malt Whisky Fässer und bietet limitierte Einzelfassabfüllungen an.

This nice inexpensive set is great for a beginner at golf, which is me--never played before. I don't evem know if I'm going to like playing, but at least I have a set of clubs so that I can give it a try...it's the exercise from walking the course that appeals to me. My son says he can teach me, even using mens clubs. I figure if I like the game, I can get a nicer set of ladies clubs and pass this set to my grandson. If I don't like the game, I can still pass the set along to my grandson! My son thought these clubs were decent weight and quality and well worth the price...the only thing missing was a putter, but we found a cheaper one to add to the set.

Good second-level pickleball paddles for a great price

I've been playing pickleball for a while now, though not ever well. I have progressed from wooden paddles and just trying things out to bundles of basic fiberglass paddles and balls to higher-end paddles that individually cost more than the "multi-paddle plus balls" bundles. I have kids and kids-in-law and grandkids, and not everyone has their own paddles. Thus, I purchased this set to get a couple more paddles. This Amazon Basics set of 2 paddles, four balls, and a carrying case is a starter set, maybe one step up from the basic wooden paddles that I started with. The paddles are nice, light-weight but sturdy, with a decent surface that should allow some level of control. The grips are nice, and there is some additional grip tape you can use to retape a handle that wears out. The balls are standard balls, and should get you started. The case is similar to cases I've purchased before with other sets. Unfortunately, the makers skimped on the zipper. It only has one (another case from a similar set had two zippers), and after just a few uses, the zipper completely fell off (see photo). This makes the case completely useless, and definitely drops my rating. But, given the price, the quality of the paddles, and the four balls, this is still a great starter set, even without a cheap carrying case. I'm happy to have the extra balls and paddles.
